I’m fascinated by the perseverence of plant life. Nothing stops the quest to reach out for sunlight, even brick-and-mortar modernity.

Note: No one sowed the seed here; this is a subtle act of reclamation on the part of the natural world.

Also note: My camera refused to focus on the plant, perhaps demonstrating that a) the plant is seemingly insignificant even to the refined robotic eye, or b) I need a new camera.

This bike has been chained outside my office building for months. It’s missing its front tire, and the campus police have posted a notice on it, but it’s still hanging tough, quietly oxidizing in the elements, becoming one with nature.

Good advice. This is a bench outside my office building where I do, as the artist suggests, occasionally sit and read a book.

An unlit pre-show tiki torch brimming with potential. Later, the torch will be lit, and concertgoers will find comfort in its flame as they discuss their favorite bands and brands of beer.
